We drove back home last night from our vacation.
Tomorrow, we have to be at the closest immigration center at 8 am for our our biometrics (fingerprinting).
So, if this hadn't happened, we would probably have missed the appointment because we would have been hundreds of miles away! So, everything worked for good, down to the day almost (because I was actually planning to return today).
K's brother drove straight to our house last Sunday and opened the mail, alerting us to the appointment tomorrow, so we knew in advance.
We won't sleep a lot, since we need to wake up really early not risk being late, but we're very thankful we can keep this appointment and get the ball rolling on that pesky naturalization process.
More later (oh how I wish I could easily blog from my phone! As it is I can only do it using the browser as all apps have really bad reviews and I refuse to get them).

GOT THE JOB!!!!
PHEW!!!!
What a relief!! Oh, what a relief. 3 year contract. Decent salary. Now I have (and want) to ditch U#1 (where my husband works). I will miss it. Just one tiny bit. (the people a lot) Sigh...
Oh, thank you Lord!
Sigh...
The mega-commute remains, but I'm used to it by now. ;-)

Interview done
Yeah, on Skype, short & sweet. Now let's hope they don't go rogue & hire someone else!
And on to one of the craziest busiest weekends of all time.
Six family members at our house visiting, a 4h30 school harvest festival tomorrow night were volunteering at. Preparing food ingredients for 50-70 people & on Sunday loading the car, going to kids' piano recital, driving to U#2, cooking and serving food to students.
Then I have to prepare two quizzes and finish grading an exam. I stay overnight in U#2 city & come back home Monday afternoon.
Wish me luck. Crazy busy life.

I can keep the damaged book!
the "saga of the photo book" continues... :)
After Shutterfly reordered the book for me I felt really bad that I had let the mail carrier take my package. So I got in touch with Shutterfly again and they told me that I can keep the damaged book. (I would have felt dishonest going after the package if they didn't say it was OK).
I already called the post-office. The carrier is not back yet, but I let them know I want the package even if damaged & I'm hoping to pick it up later! YAY! I will give the damaged book to my mom, she will be so thrilled! (and this counts as one more of those "growing up 'poor/thrifty'" penny-pinching kind of situations that I often find myself in :-D)
There it goes, a classic cliched "lemons turned into lemonades" situation too! ;-)
